Parents Support Groups run as 8-week online programmes offering a safe and confidential space for parents/carers to gain information and skills to support their young person and to receive peer support from other parents/carers in a similar position. The support combines clinical expertise from Brandon Centre and extensive experience and local links by Local Mind.
Referrals are open to all parents/carers from the London Borough of Enfield, Barnet, Haringey, Camden and Islington, whose children or young people between 11-16 are known and open to CAMHS with presenting issues such as low mood, anxiety and self-harm. The programme is open to parents of children and young people with autism and ADHD.
Unfortunately, this programme is not suitable for parents/carers of children/young people with a significant learning disability, complex mental health disorder, PTSD or eating disorders.
Parents/ carers can be referred via CAMHS or another Mental Health practitioner, or self-refer using the attached form.
Our next Parents in Mind Support dates:
Wednesday, 21st May at 1PM-2.30PM and is scheduled to conclude on Wednesday, 16th July,
(The group will not run during half-term).
